Porcupine Plain RCMP theft investigation has a dam good ending:
On May 7, Porcupine Plain RCMP responded to a theft complaint in a rural area. An individual had left some posts piled on a property they planned on fencing, only to find they’d gone missing.
Officers began investigating the post-plundering, but the caper was quickly revealed when the posts were spotted in a nearby waterway. “The stolen posts were located in a beaver dam,” explains Cst. Conrad Rickards of the Porcupine Plain RCMP Detachment. “A beaver – or beavers – helped themselves to the stash of posts and used them to help build a dam. I tried locating said beavers but they were GOA (gone on arrival).”
None of the beavers will face charges, he says. “Who could really blame these little bucktooth bandits, considering the price of wood these days?”
Porcupine Plain RCMP has now closed this extremely Canadian case.
Here is the project that has had me hopping this year.
What we have been up to this summer....
We are pleased to announce our new series starting October 2025. This has been a chore to get it underway added to that we had a computer failure that almost left us with out our library. Thankfully we now have it all up and running (sort of) and with a final upgrade we should be all new and improved. I will finally get episode 9 up today as well and the rest of the season that we are so grateful to still have.
Rich and Sandi sit down for a looooong podcast with the folks from Panoramic. You can find out more about the guys at https://www.panoramicoutdoors.com/
Hello.
Can someone tell med why EVERY single marten jumps with left leg first or in front? Never in 30 years I have find a track with right led first in the track 🤷
With Troy on a mountain sled breaking trail we managed to open up 20 km of trail. It was a long day with many times stuck for every one. The next day I got to check and reset 18 cat pens. Picked up 3 cats and had 3 more walk through snowed in pens. Only 50 more pens to find and reopen (and 120 km more trail!) Check out how much snow there is to dig out of pens! The top of the snare is at 20" and there is probably a foot of snow under it. Trapping Inc TV
Sorry I have been MIA here. I have been struggling with health, weather and equipment issues.
It was the final struck of the day. The snow is next to impossible for the Antichrist. This was probably the 20th stuck in 4 km. In fact at one point to turn around I had to dig a 12' circle to the ground to hand bomb the pig in a circle. Exhaustion got the best of me and with the road in sight this happened. I walked out and back to the cabin. By road it was 8 km. Over night it hit -36 and the antichrist wouldn't start, so there it sat for 5 days. Friday Skyler and Troy came out with me. I took a new battery and the Antichrist fired up. A chainsaw and a tug and we got back up on the trail. Trapping Inc TV
