Whenever people ask me where they should put their traps on their trapline I always ask them how well do they know their trap line and where the animals are. Ryan did a classic school on exactly that on this trip to Saskatchewan. We targeted old farm yards and these are the first weeks that the raccoons are leaving their winter dens. They haven't even started eating yet so you have to target the denning sites. Some of them like the haunted house are pretty cool. But the damage that raccoons do inside a house is unbelievable!

Which way do you like to look at the lynx the belly or the back?
Is it any wonder that a 27 pound cat can walk on top of 3 feet of powder snow? The first picture is the bottom of a lynx paw. I'm always amazed that the pads show in their tracks at all with all that fur. The second picture shows my hand (that is a 2xl glove on it) in between the front paws of a good lynx. The left paw is the top and the right paw shows the bottom.
